Mark Felgate

Mark Felgate is a man with unique talents. His startling abilities as a ventriloquist combined with a wicked sense of humour have helped Mark move quickly up the ladder of stand up comedy. Although he first honed his skills as a ventriloquist performing at children's parties from the age of 12, he began his stand up comedy career in 1996. In that short time, Mark has garnered awards and much praise for his unique and hilarious performances.

Performing without a dummy, Mark 'throws' his voice to create side-splitting routines on freaking out drunks and pallbearers or the vagaries of censorship. His performances include a slew of silly voices, noises and vocal acrobatics.

Mark returned to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival for his sixth season this year. He appeared in a sketch comedy show with Noel James and Steve Best at the Gilded Balloon after a successful run last year with Noel at the Tron. Mark also performed his individual form of stand up in the Midnight Show at the Gilded Balloon. His first Edinburgh Festival was spent performing in a sketch show with Perrier Nominee Lee Mack. Mark is also an International performer being booked for runs of shows in Amsterdam, Ireland and Jersey.

Mark is an accomplished actor and presenter. He recently appeared in a short film Arthur's Amazing Things directed by Martin Gooch with Emily Booth, Lindsey Dawn McKenzie and Leslie Philips. He was a member of the performing and writing team for Take It To The Limit (Play UK) and was the winning comedian on Gagging For It (Channel 5). He has also applied his comic talents to an advertising campaign for Stimerol in the Netherlands, which meant having to endure filming in Cuba with ten glamorous models and also a campaign including several voiceovers for Royal Bank of Scotland which was far less glamorous.

"...right on the funny bone and his voice throwing talents are very original" - The Stage

"He's a good mix of stand-up, silly voices, noises and verbal acrobatics" - Time Out
