Tom Allen spent several years with the National Youth Theatre before entering comedy, winning the BBC Talent New Comedy Award in 2005 and So You Think You're Funny in 2006.

With a voice more at home on the BBC, a smart suit and freshly ironed shirt Tom effortlessly engages the audience with tales of growing up beneath the shadow of an overbearing mother, malfunctioning train lavatories, the office birthday card ritual and many more awkward social situations, all of which he describes with colourful detail.

He has recorded two series of The Correspondent which he co-writes and performs for BBC Radio 4 and guest appearances on Loose Ends, The Stephen K Amos Show, Big Brother’s Big Mouth, 2 episodes of the Dr Who Companion Chronicles and stars as "Pip Bin" in the BBC Radio4 Comedy Series "Bleak Expectations".

For television he has appeared in BBC’s Sensitive Skin, Fear of Fanny, the Frankie Howerd biopic Rather You Than Me and The Cut as well as Channel 4’s Law of the Playground. He is the voiceover for 100 Plastic Surgery Shockers and 100 Wedding Shockers. He also made his own documentary for E4 about identity entitled ‘Who is Tom Allen?’ Film includes Colour Me Kubrick with John Malkovich, Starter for Ten with James McEvoy and Mark Gatiss and the new Stephen Frears film, Tamara Drewe.
