Abi Roberts and her big hair exploded onto the stand-up comedy scene in 2011, after a number of years as a singer and cabaret performer.

She has been dubbed by comedy critics as "Very funny, rapid-fire, infectious humour...unstoppable and triumphant… takes down target after target (Sara Fisch, New Statesman); "Raucous" (Dominic Cavendish, Daily Telegraph); as "Fast-paced, high-octane comedy with brilliant routines...entertaining throughout and leaves everybody wanting more"

Gigglebeats.co.uk), "...a master impersonator" (Edinburgh’s Three Weeks) and by UK Comedy website Chortle as "a consummate entertainer".

Abi plays weekend shows in comedy clubs across the UK, including The Stand, Jongleurs, Big Night Out; Baby Blue Comedy, Liverpool; Lee Hurst’s Backyard Comedy and Downstairs At the Kings Head. She has also compered the inaugural celebrity comedy night Boom-Tish, in London's Crouch End and is resident compere at Steyning Comedy Club in Steyning, Sussex. In 2013, she supported and opened for Michael McIntyre at The Bloomsbury Theatre.

Abi also hosts her own live chat show, “Abi Roberts’ Musical C.I.D.”, which is touring in theatres and comedy clubs from September 2013. The show has guest comedians and looks at their musical tastes, preferences and foibles in forensic detail.

Awards: As a cabaret act, Abi was a semi-finalist in the 2009 Funny Women competition. As a stand-up, she was a Finalist and Runner-Up in the Comedy Store's Costa Light Competition in 2011 and a Finalist and Runner-Up in the Harrogate Comedy Festival’s Comedian of The Year 2012. Abi is also one of a handful of recipients of the prestigious Peter Ackerman Comedy Award, given for outstanding comedy performances by Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.
