Dominic Holland

At the tender age of 28, Dominic Holland had already enjoyed astonishing success as a stand up comedian. His inspired observations on life and incisive wit combine to produce hilarity appealing to all ages and most unlikely to offend – a facet which critics have been quick to celebrate.

Dominic’s first full length solo show (‘Red Hot Dutch with Dominic') opened very successfully at the Hen & Chickens Theatre in London, and it went on to enjoy phenomenal success at the Pleasance Theatre at the 1993 Edinburgh Festival. Critically acclaimed, the show’s three week run was a complete sell out, with extra dates added to satisfy demand. It became the first debut show at the Pleasance Theatre to completely sell out. Fittingly, Dominic was presented with the prestigious Perrier Best Newcomer Award, an honour only bestowed when the panel recognizes an outstanding new talent. In Perrier’s 12 year association with the festival, Dominic was the only recipient.

Dominic is now one of the most respected and sought after comedians in the country, returning to Edinburgh in 1998 to receive a nomination for the main Perrier Award and narrowly missing out to Al Murray. He has also supported Eddie Izzard on a nationwide tour, appeared at the Brit Awards, appeared extensively in America, completed his own sellout UK tour and best of all has worked extensively with Des O’Connor.

UPDATE: Dominic has been somewhat overshadowed by the success of Tom. one of his sons. Tom Holland is Spiderman in the latest incarnation of the Marvel franchise. Dom remains however, one of the very best comics on the circuit. In the days when Riproar was called 'Jesters Comedy Club', he was one of our most regular performers, and never failed to rip up the room. It's both an honour, and tremendously exciting to have him back as part of our roster. Don't miss any show where you see him listed to perform!
